1. Don't try to be liked by others.

If you try to win the favor of others, you neglect yourself.

국내 대학 최초로 교내에서 '퀴어 퍼레이드' 진행한 학교...학생들, 기자회견 진행

 

성공회대 학생들이 국내 대학 중 최초로 교내에서 미니 퀴어퍼레이드를 열었다.

20일 서울 구로구에 위치한 성공회대에서 오전 11시 기자회견을 시작으로 미니 퀴어퍼레이드 행사가 진행됐다.

이날 행사는 성공회대 학생들로 구성된 인권위원회, 학부 학생회, 학회 등 학내단체 5개가 주최한 것으로 알려졌다.

본 행사에서는 서울퀴어문화축제조직위원회, 학내 구성원의 연대 발언과 공연 등이 열렸다.

또 '아우팅 방지 가면 만들기', '퀴어 프렌들리 타투 스티커 붙이기' 등 부스도 마련됐다. 오후 8시부터는 교내 광장을 행진했다.

교내 퀴어 퍼레이드 주최 측은 기자회견을 통해 서울퀴어퍼레이드의 정상 개최를 염원한다며 "서울광장 사용을 불허한 서울시의 차별 행정을 규탄한다"고 전했다.

또 "광장은 서슴없는 혐오 표현을 내뱉는 기득권이 독점하는 공간이 아니다"라며 "서울시장은 우리의 광장을 보고 배우길 바란다. 성소수자 차별이 사라진 평등한 세상, 아무도 혐오 받지 않는 이상적인 사회를 염원한다"고 호소했다.

이날 성공회대 퀴어 퍼레이드 행사에는 박경석 전국장애인차별철폐연대(전장연) 상임공동대표도 참석했다.

박경석 전장연 상임공동대표는 "성 정체성 역시 장애와 마찬가지로 치료의 문제가 아니다. 차별을 철폐하는 게 핵심이다. 혐오 목소리에 아무리 힘들더라도 무감각해지지 않고 맞서면 좋겠다"고 응원했다.

이번 교내 퀴어퍼레이드 진행 소식이 알려지자 대학교 익명 커뮤니티 '에브리타임'에는 성소수자를 향한 욕설, 혐오 표현의 게시글 500개가 올라오기도 했다.

김경문 성공회대 총장은 행사를 반대하는 재학생 등의 이메일이 끊이질 않자 "논란이 예상되는 행사는 보류하고 학생 의견을 수렴하라"는 입장문을 대학 홈페이지에 게시했다가 나흘 뒤 철회한 것으로 알려졌다.
