이 말은 우리가 지금 누리고 있는 편안함이나 혜택이

그냥 주어진 것이 아니라,

과거 누군가의 노력과 준비 덕분이라는 의미입니다.

예를 들어,

우리가 공부할 수 있는 환경,

편리하게 사용하는 기술,

혹은 안전하게 살 수 있는 사회 모두

앞서 살아간 사람들이 열심히 일하고 만들어온 결과입니다.

이 말은 두 가지를 생각하게 합니다.

첫째, 지금 우리가 누리는 것들에 대해 감사하는 마음을 가져야 하고,

둘째, 우리도 미래의 누군가를 위해 나무를 심는 사람이 되어야 한다는 점입니다.

작은 노력이라도 꾸준히 한다면,

언젠가 누군가에게 큰 도움이 될 수 있습니다.

고진감래(苦盡甘來)  /  Gojingamrae (苦盡甘來)

옛날 옛날 아주 작은 마을에 농부 한 명이 살았어요. 

이 농부는 정말 성실하고 부지런했지만, 하는 일마다 잘 풀리지 않았죠. 

흉년이 들어 농사를 망치기도 하고, 힘들게 키운 가축이 병에 걸려 죽기도 했어요. 

농부는 매일매일 힘든 일만 계속되니 너무나 지치고 절망스러웠답니다.

어느 날, 농부는 밭을 갈다가 우연히 낡은 상자를 발견했어요. 

상자 안에는 씨앗 몇 알과 쪽지가 들어 있었는데, 쪽지에는 이렇게 쓰여 있었어요.

"이 씨앗을 심고 정성껏 가꾸면 반드시 좋은 일이 있을 것이다."

농부는 밑져야 본전이라는 생각으로 씨앗을 심고 매일 땀을 흘리며 정성껏 가꿨어요.

처음에는 아무것도 자라지 않아 실망하기도 했지만, 포기하지 않고 꾸준히 물을 주고 잡초를 뽑아주었죠.

시간이 흘러 드디어 씨앗에서 싹이 트고, 놀랍게도 그 씨앗은 아주 귀한 열매를 맺는 나무로 자라났어요.

농부는 그 열매를 팔아 큰 돈을 벌었고, 덕분에 가난에서 벗어나 풍족한 삶을 누리게 되었답니다.

마을 사람들은 농부의 이야기를 듣고 '고진감래'라는 말을 떠올렸어요. 

'고진감래'는 쓴(苦) 것이 다하면(盡) 단(甘) 것이 온다(來)는 뜻으로, 

힘든 고생 끝에 낙이 온다는 의미예요. 

농부가 힘든 시간을 견디고 노력한 끝에 좋은 결과를 얻은 것처럼 말이죠.

이 이야기처럼, 우리도 살다 보면 힘들고 어려운 일들을 겪게 돼요. 

하지만 포기하지 않고 꾸준히 노력하면, 언젠가는 '고진감래'의 순간이 찾아올 거예요. 

지금 당장은 힘들더라도 희망을 잃지 마세요!

Once upon a time, there lived a farmer in a very small village.

Like this story, we go through difficult and difficult things in our lives. 
But if you don't give up and keep trying, one day the moment of "Gojingamrae" will come. 
Even if it's hard right now, don't lose hope!

옛날 옛날 아주 간절한 소망을 가진 사람이 살았어요. 

이 사람은 너무나 어려운 상황에 놓여 있어서 자신의 힘으로는 도저히 해결할 수 없다고 생각했죠. 

매일 밤 그는 하늘을 보며 간절히 기도했어요. 

"제발 도와주세요! 제 힘으로는 안 돼요!"

어느 날, 정말 신기한 일이 벌어졌어요. 

마치 하늘에서 돕는 손길이 내려온 것처럼, 도저히 풀릴 것 같지 않던 문제가 거짓말처럼 해결되기 시작한 거예요. 

꼬이고 엉켰던 실타래가 술술 풀리듯, 모든 일이 순조롭게 진행되었죠.

사람들은 모두 깜짝 놀라며 말했어요.

"저 사람, 정말 운이 좋네! 하늘과 신령님이 도왔나 봐!"

마을 사람들은 이 기적 같은 일을 보면서 '천우신조'라는 말을 떠올렸답니다.

'천우신조'는 하늘(天)이 돕고(佑), 신(神)이 만든다(助)는 뜻으로,

도저히 불가능해 보이는 일이 하늘의 도움과 신의 조화로 이루어졌을 때 쓰는 말이에요.

마치 간절한 소망을 가진 사람에게 기적이 일어난 것처럼 말이죠.

이 이야기처럼, 우리도 살다 보면 정말 어려운 일에 부딪힐 때가 있어요.

하지만 포기하지 않고 간절히 소망하면, 때로는 '천우신조'와 같은 기적이 일어날지도 모른답니다. 

물론, 노력도 게을리하면 안 되겠죠?

"Cheonwoo Godjo" means that heaven helps (佑) and God creates (助),
It's a word used when something that seems impossible is done with the help of heaven and the harmony of God.
It's like a miracle happened to a man with a desperate desire.
Like this story, there are times when we encounter really difficult things in our lives.
But if you don't give up and wish for it desperately, sometimes a miracle like 'Cheonwoo Godjo' may occur. 
Of course, I shouldn't be lazy in my efforts, right?
