명심보감 제11편성심편(省心篇) - 마음을 살펴라 (상)

밝은 거울은 얼굴을 살피는 수단이요, 지나간 일은 오늘을 아는 방법이다

밝은 거울은 얼굴을 살피는 수단이요

맑고 깨끗한 거울을 통해 자신의 얼굴을 자세히 살펴볼 수 있듯이,

지나간 일은 오늘을 아는 방법이다

과거의 경험과 역사를 통해 현재의 상황을 이해하고 미래를 예측할 수 있다는 의미입니다.

다시 말해, 과거를 거울삼아 현재를 반성하고 더 나은 미래를 만들어나가라는 교훈을 담고 있습니다. 

과거의 잘못을 되풀이하지 않고, 좋은 점은 본받아 발전하는 것이 중요하다는 뜻입니다.

Just as you can take a closer look at your face through a clear and clean mirror,
The past is how to know today
It means that we can understand the current situation and predict the future through past experience and history.
In other words, it contains a lesson to reflect on the present and create a better future by mirroring the past. 
It means that it is important not to repeat the mistakes of the past, but to follow the good and develop.

Isn't it also a gentleman who doesn't get angry even if others don't recognize me? - Gongja -

남이 나를 알아주지 않아도 노여워하지 않음이 또한 군자가 아니겠는가 -공자 -

공자의 명언 "남이 나를 알아주지 않아도 노여워하지 않음이 또한 군자가 아니겠는가"
